The icing on the cake!

CBD Brownies

It was a sunny Friday afternoon when I arrived at the New Lawn Stadium. As usual I was given a warm and friendly Forest Green welcome and shown up to the kitchen for my appointment. 

But football wasn’t on the agenda today. It wasn’t a ball but a bowl we would be using! Head Chef Jade Crawford was going to create something unique. Like our partnership, a collaboration of Vegan Green cooking and our organic CBD.

Jade had created Vegan Brownies before, but these would have a twist. A bright green icing infused with our tasty Cinnamint CBD oil. Our Cinnamint oil is organic with both extracted Cinnamon and Peppermint, we believe it’s the tastiest CBD oil on the market. Created a few years ago in tribute to the Big Red a popular chewing gum in America. But never had this oil been used in an icing, never mind a bright green one. 

The brownies were baked and cooling on their racks. The kitchen had the scent of chocolatey goodness with the temptation to dig in difficult to overcome. But we had to wait, Jade got the ingredients ready for the icing and started to mix. ‘How many drops should we use?’ Jade asked. ‘I was thinking half a bottle’ I replied. And so, it began…. The Forest Green food colouring was added, and the now bright green mixture was mixed with half a bottle of CBD.

Then came a move that wouldn’t look out of place on the pitch…the Dribble!! 

Jade expertly decorated the brownies creating a striped effect, showing enough chocolate with more than a hint of green. 

The result was beautiful but also spookily had a look of the new home kit, made with bamboo. It was then decided that this creation would be forever more called the Zebra CBD Brownie.

Fast forward to the next day and despite a disappointing day on the pitch, the food as always was a triumph. Jade treated the 300 or so VIPs in hospitality to Cauliflower Wings, Jerk Marinated Quorn Pieces, Coconut, Chili & Lime Parsnips and various salads. At half time the infamous cake platters were presented with the Zebra CBD Brownie taking pride of place. The verdict they tasted great! and the VIP’s felt the benefits. 

Another successful collaboration between Forest Green Rovers and Elixinol….
