Ozzy Osbourne has come a long way from biting bats on stage, and has been all about wellness recently – including the use of CBD oil.
The Prince of Darkness was earlier this year rushed to hospital with bronchitis stemming from a bad bout of flu. After being treated in intensive care (over fears he may contract pneumonia) he was released, but later had a fall at home that sparked symptoms of old injuries he sustained in a motorcycle crash years earlier.
Ozzy’s back and shoulder injuries, coupled with worries that he didn’t have time to recover before his scheduled tour, meant the Black Sabbath rocker was forced to cancel dates to recuperate.
Speaking about her husband’s issues, Sharon Osbourne appeared on Loose Women, saying: ‘He’s [in] terrible pain, and his pain is, he’s not good at being at home. He wants to be back on the road, back on his tour, back with his band, and he’s pining.
‘Really, the challenge is not his injuries, it’s his state of mind to keep him positive and working.’
She then went on to tell the audience how he’d turned to using CBD oil to manage his pain, which he chose due to his previous struggles with drug addiction.
‘He’s off all of that,’ said Sharon, referring to the tradition painkiller he’d been prescribed before.
‘He had to have it after he was operated on the last time. But now for pain, he has that CBD oil – whatever it’s called – and he’s dealing with it that way,’ she continued.
CBD, which is derived from the cannabis plant, is legal in the UK and contains no THC, the psychoactive compound that provides a ‘high’ feeling.
