In the midst of austerity and off the back of a recession, with High Street shops closing left, right and centre, it can feel that there aren’t many jobs available in Britain: step up, CBD. The burgeoning cannabidiol industry has had a surprising effect on the British economy, and with sales up 11 per cent in the last year alone and a total market value of £300m per year, it’s no wonder that there are suddenly lots of new employment opportunities across a wealth of different skillsets.
“CBD products are one of the UK’s fastest-growing consumer markets, with a flourishing jobs growth — from roles in manufacturing to sales and lab analysis,” CBD lawyer Nichola Craven told The Sun.
Whether you’re a writer, designer or good at sales, there are interesting roles available across the country. As we’ve previously reported, the UK market is estimated to reach a whopping £1bn by 2025, so a boost of staff are needed to do everything from managing teams, sales, beauty therapy treatments, recipe creation, marketing, product packaging design and copywriting. UK employment sites currently have more than 1,000 CBD-related roles listed, with salaries from £15,000 all the way up to six figure sums. With more independent companies cropping up, and a gathering interest from big brands and chains across the country, there’s sure to be an increase in job opportunities over the coming months.
